Thread lifts are a hot topic in aesthetic medicine right now, and we are thrilled to be a provider of this state-of-the-art skin rejuvenation treatment! To help you better understand this exciting, minimally-invasive anti-aging tool, here are the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about thread lifts.
What exactly are thread lifts?
We use Silhouette InstaLift™, a type of thread lift designed to lift the mid-face/cheek area. InstaLift thread lifts are made of fully degradable material that is routinely used in surgery. Because it dissolves completely, there’s no risk of scar tissue. InstaLift threads feature bi-directional cones which work to lift the skin while also stimulating new collagen growth.
How do the threads work?
InstaLift is technically referred to as a suspension suture that offers immediate lifting of the mid-face contours. Three InstaLift sutures are inserted in an upward direction on both sides of the face, providing an immediate lifting effect. These threads also stimulate new collagen production, resulting in gradual, long-lasting benefits long after the threads have been inserted and dissolve.
Can I use thread lifts for other areas of the body?
Although InstaLift sutures are FDA-approved for use in the face, many surgeons, including Dr. Bullis, have successfully used them to lift skin anywhere on the body, including the breasts, buttocks, abdomen and neck.
Are thread lifts safe?
InstaLift thread lifts are made from a well-known, tried-and-true material that has been successfully used for more than 30 years in the medical industry. InstaLift threads are a safe alternative to surgery and dermal fillers for patients who desire natural-looking, long-lasting improvements without the hassle of maintenance treatments or extensive downtime.
Are thread lifts right for me?
Our medical director, board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. John Bullis, will carefully assess your facial contours, including the thickness and quality of your skin, the degree of skin laxity and volume loss to determine if InstaLift is appropriate for you. Depending on your goals, Dr. Bullis may recommend a combination treatment to help you achieve your best results.
