Each one of our treatments utilizes one or several biocellular technologies to achieve optimal results. Here are the highlights of the four main biocellular modalites we employ at A-to-Zen Regenerative Medicine, and how they can work for you.
Stem cells are commonly used to enhance fat grafting, perform facial rejuvenation, and to stimulate hair growth to treat baldness. Stem cells are also instrumental in healing chronic pain, athletic injury, and many other conditions. For our treatments, we use adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), which can be found in greatest concentration in our fat, or adipose tissue. How it works
In addition to mature and immature fat cells (adipocytes) and the MSC, your fat also contains numerous other cell types, collagen, and many different growth factors, which all work synergistically to spur intense revitalization. Adipose-derived MSC’s stem cells can be harvested from the patient in our office under local anesthesia using micro lipo-aspiration. Only about 1-2 shot glasses of fat tissue are usually required. (Please note that we are NOT USING embryonic stem cells, as their use in the United States is strictly limited to research purposes under specific conditions.)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is a concentrated portion of your own blood filled with healing properties and growth factors, which can speed healing and enhance the benefits for almost every type of surgery or aesthetic treatment, from natural breast augmentation to dermal fillers. PRP is also a potent healing agent for all types of injuries, chronic conditions, and other wellness concerns. How it works
We obtain PRP using a specialized collection tube and spinning it in a centrifuge. Depending on your needs, we can obtain Low-Density PRP (LD-PRP), which has a platelet concentration about double that of whole blood. High-Density PRP (HD-PRP) has platelet concentrations of about 4-6 times that of whole blood and can be obtained through similar, but slightly more complicated means. At A-to-Zen Regenerative Medicine, we offer both options, as some procedures require different platelet concentrations for optimal results.
Autologous Fat Grafting
The most common applications for fat grafting include natural breast augmentation and the Brazilian Butt Lift. How it works
When your own fat is injected back into your body, it has growth factors and stem cells which stimulate the growth of blood vessels, nerves, collagen, muscle, and more to provide more volume. Fat grafting can also help to repair musculoskeletal injuries.
“Nano-Fat” or micronized fat
Nano-fat is what we use to perform the non-surgical fat transfer procedure, a popular aesthetic treatment that uses your body’s fat and stem cells to rejuvenate targeted areas of the body. A fat transfer is an outpatient procedure that only takes 45 minutes and doesn’t use any chemicals. This bio-cellular therapy takes fat tissue from the abdominal area or legs and reintroduces them to the areas that require more structure and fullness. Nano-fat can also be used to treat musculoskeletal injury, erectile dysfunction, hair loss, and more. How it works
Through a process of sequential screening, fat tissue can be broken down into tiny clumps of cells that can be comfortably injected through a very small needle. This fat tissue contains all of the stromal and stem cells along with important growth factors from the extracellular matrix, and it can also be augmented with PRP and/or additional stem-stromal cells for added regenerative potential.
